NOTES: Born abt 1798; d. after 1851. Said to be 1/2 Cherokee and 1/2 Creek. Listed on the 1851 Cherokee Old Settler Roll: IL, 193 as Susan McIntosh (1896, p. 463). Translation: Su-gi = Wild Onion (Allium Cernuum).
Susanna "Su-gi" Rowe was the daughter of Richard Rowe II b. abt 1778 in GA and d. abt 1842; she had the following siblings: Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth, Judge David U-su-dv-su-tli Rowe, Polly, and Arch Rowe.
She married (1) Chief/Gen. William McIntosh Jr (1775-1825); they had the following children: Rebecca McIntosh b. 15 Mar 1815 d. 1888 who married (1) Benjamin Hawkins in 1831 and (2) Spire H. Haggerty Sr. on 20 Mar 1839 in Shelby Co., TX; Delilah McIntosh b. 15 Oct 1818 d. bet 1851-1895 who married William Drew (buried at this cem.); Hetty Catherine b. 1820 in Columbus, GA d. 28 May 1887 at Gibson Station, CNW, who married who married James Dandridge Willison; and Col. Daniel Newnon McIntosh b. 20 Sep 1822, Indian Springs, GA, d. 10 Apr 1896 Creek Nation, IT, who married (1) Elsie Otterlifter, (2) Elizabeth Jane Ward, and (3) Eliza Belle Gawler.
She married about 1825, Creek Chief Roley (Roderick) McIntosh (buried at this cem.); *see his gravesite for their children.
