bullet  General Notes:

NOTES:
Chilly McIntosh
was an officer with the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War.

Chilly founded the 2nd Creek Mounted Volunteers (later known as the Second Creek Cavalry Regiment, CSA).

His father was William (Chief White Warrior) McIntosh, one of the most prominent chiefs of the Creek Nation between the turn of the nineteenth century and the time of Creek removal to Indian Territory. He was one of 9 Creek chiefs who signed the Treaty of Indian Springs in 1825, which sold all the remaining Creek land in Georgia to the United States in exchange for $200,000.

As a result, Chilly's father was murdered two months later at their home by the Creek National Council for his part in selling off all the Creek land in Georgia, which the Creek National Council viewed as an illegal breach of Creek Law, the Code of 1818. Chilly, who had also been sentenced to die, escaped by diving through a window.
