NOTES:
Son of Johannes Peter Faust and Magdalena Adam. Husband of Matelina Albrecht m. abt. 1738 Berks Co, PA.

Philip took the Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America on 6/12/1778. Founder 6 October 1769, and Elder of St. Michael's Reformed Church, Tilden, Berks, PA.

Philip Faust came to America with his parents in 1733. His two sons, Jacob and Ludwig, were confirmed in St. Michael's Church on May 26, 1776. The area in which St. Michael's is located is still an area of large fertile farms. The Faust Farm remained in the family until 1889, a period of 147 years, when Maria Elizabeth Faust, widow of Solomon Faust, died. It was then sold at public sale. The Reverend Henry Hertzel was pastor of the German Reformed Church at St. Michael's from 1776 to 1792. He died in late October or early November 1799. He was succeeded by the Reverend John Mann. St. Michael's Church is located four miles west of Hamburg.

Note: Faust family sailed on the ship "Elizabeth," Edward Lee master: sailed Rotterdam, quailified at the Port of Philadelphia. Understand he purchased his first piece of property on 17 May 1742 -50 acres in Bern Township, Berks Co (then Lancaster Co.), PA. This land stayed in the Faust family until 1889. Homestead was said to be two miles northwest of Centerport on the road leading from Mohsville to Shartlesville, PA.

(Matelina ALBRECHT was born on 10 Feb 1716 in Swabia, Palatinate, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, died on 5 Apr 1789 in Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Saint Michaels Cemetery, Berks County, Pennsylvania.)
