NOTES: Bill's mother (Laura Cooper-Carter) died in 1928 when Bill was a young child. Bill's maternal grandfather (David Cooper) then died in 1930. As a result, Bill's father (Roy Carter) and Bill's grandmother (Ruth Eastes-Cooper), moved in together to raise Bill, and continued to live together until Ruth's death in 1964.
