NOTES: Ruth's daughter (Laura Cooper-Carter) died in 1928 when Laura's son Bill was a young child. Ruth's husband (David Cooper) then died in 1930. As a result, Ruth and her son-in-law (Roy Carter) moved in together to raise Bill, and continued to live together until Ruth's death in 1964.

DATE OF DEATH: According to the California Death Index, Ruth died on 25 July 1964, NOT 20 July 1964 (as stated on her Find A Grave Memorial #45276765). Her headstone only listed the year of her death (1964).
