OCCUPATION: Thomas was a country school teacher. He and his wife lived on 500 acres near Greenwood, AR about two miles from his father's log cabin homestead. DEATH: He was killed by Jayhawkers (an anti-slavery militant group) while he was visiting his step-mother.
