ANCESTRY: Descended from Warinus de la Strode (born 1020 in Bretagne, France), a French knight who lived at the time of William the Conqueror NOTEWORTHY: John Mildenhall was a British explorer and adventurer and one of the first to make an overland journey to India. He was the self-styled ambassador of the British East India Company in India. He was the only Englishman to ever visit both royal courts of the Emperors Akbar and Jahangir.
