OBITUARY: 3/26/2006 Mr. George E. Baldwin Jr. GREENSBORO - Mr. George E. Baldwin Jr., age 85, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Beacon Place, after a year of critical illness. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Larson officiating.
Mr. Baldwin was born in Guilford County, June 29, 1920 to George E. and Eva Baldwin. He served in the 25th Field Artillery in the U.S. Army, during World War II and was a Prisoner of War. He was a member and an officer of The Woodmen of the World and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Baldwin is survived by his wife, Jewel Whitesell Summers Baldwin of the home; stepsons Boyd Summers of Burlington and Jerry Summers and wife Glenda of Gibsonville; stepgrandchildren, Amber Summers, Jesse Summers and Jake Summers; a cousin, Willie Johnson and special friend, Lisa Miller.
