OBITUARY:
Mrs. Emma Lucille (Whitlock) Rogers, 100, of Newport died Saturday, May 26, 2012.

She was born March 23, 1912 at Tuckerman, Arkansas, the daughter of Don V. and Lillie Mae (Hartwick) Whitlock. In 1933, she married Mr. George Thomas Rogers, and they spent many years together.

Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker, and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Leachville. While living in Tuckerman, she attended First Baptist Church. Mrs. Rogers was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, and served as Worthy Grand Matron. She also served in several other appointments with The Order of the Eastern Star, and attended Grand Chapter in Little Rock until the age of 95.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Rogers; her parents; two brothers, Vernon L. and Erington V. "Jack" Whitlock; and two sisters, Helen I. Adcox, and Vivian L. Bartlett.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by one sister, Christine Cole of Tuckerman; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Leachville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00-8:00 p.m

Emma married George Thomas ROGERS, son of E. W. ROGERS and Maggie VEAT, on 5 Sep 1933 in Craighead County, Arkansas. (George Thomas ROGERS was born on 14 Jan 1910 in Arkansas, died in Jul 1980 in Leachville, Mississippi County, Arkansas and was buried in Leachville Cemetery, Mississippi County, Arkansas.)
