General Notes: FAMILY: William's son, Thomas Sinclair Gore, migrated to Canada in 1841 and founded the town of Gore's Landing at Rice Lake, Ontario Research Notes: -- "A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry of Ireland" by Sir Bernard Burke, C.B., LL.D., Ulster King of Arms, page 174 William married Mary CRAWFORD on 8 Oct 1816. (Mary CRAWFORD was born in Gore Mount, Glenavy, County Antrim, Ireland and died in 1813.) William next married Anna Sinclair POLLOCK, daughter of James POLLOCK and Jane SINCLAIR, on 8 Oct 1816. (Anna Sinclair POLLOCK was born in 1786 in Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland and died on 3 Apr 1869 in Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.) |
