Howard Huey Shepherd, Jr., age 81, of Greensboro, NC and Buford, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents; Howard, Sr. and Ruth M. Shepherd; and brothers, Roland Shepherd and Jerry Shepherd.

He is survived by his: Wife of 60 years; Mrs. Charlotte Hall Shepherd, Greensboro, NC; Daughter and Son-in-Law: Jane Hall Shepherd Willingham and husband, Michael, Sugar Hill, GA; Son: Howard Huey Shepherd, III, Greensboro, NC; Grandchildren: Joshua Willingham, Sugar Hill, GA, Jennifer Willingham, Sugar Hill, GA; Sisters-in-Law: Margaret Shepherd, Gibsonville, NC, Nancy Shepherd, Gibsonville, NC; Brothers-in-Law and Sisters-in-Law: Charles and Molly Hall, Gibsonville, NC, George and Onell Hall, Gibsonville, NC; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Mr. Shepherd was born June 29, 1926 in Eden, NC. He was a 1944 graduate of Gibsonville High School, attended North Carolina State, and a 1947 graduate of Moorehead Technical College. He was a retired draftsman and instructor from Carolina Steel after 40 years of service. He was a Scout Master for Troop No. 271 at Bessemer United Methodist Church where he also was a member of the Order of Arrow and where he obtained his Wood Badge. He was a member of the Hinshaw Memorial United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Hinshaw Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. Bart Millieson officiating. Entombment will be in Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home on Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by Junior E.
