Eli B. MEAD

  General Notes:

BIOGRAPHY: Eli moved with his family from Dearborn County in about 1835, and settled in Penn Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana [where his father had moved to a year earlier]. Eli was married in the State of New York, and was the father of four children, as follows: John M., Mercy A., Betsey and Catharine. By occupation he was a farmer. He died in Penn Township at the age of seventy-eight years. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and an honorable and respected citizen. His wife died a few years later, in the ninetieth year of her age.

Eli married Hannah SNYDER on 22 Jan 1815 in Westford, Otsego County, New York. (Hannah SNYDER was born on 12 Jun 1786 in New York and died on 27 Dec 1874 in St. Joseph County, Indiana.)
