Maurice (Morys) WYNNE

NOTES: Maurice (or Morris) Wynn or Morys Wynn ap John of Gwydir (in or before 1520 - 18 August 1580) was a Welsh courtier and politician. He was the eldest son of John "Wynn" ap Maredudd from whom he inherited the Gwydir estate in 1559.

This ancient family can trace their pedigree in a straight paternal line back to Rhodri the Great (in Welsh, Rhodri ap Mawr or Rhodri ap Merfyn; also known as "Roderick the Great") (c. 820 - 878), who was King of Gwynedd from 844 until his death.
