bullet  General Notes:

BIOGRAPHY: Adam Miller was born near Zanesville, Ohio, Jan. 8, 1819, and is a son of Adam and Sarah (Prior) Miller, who removed with their family to this county in 1830. He was reared to hard work and received a limited education in a subscription school taught in a log house, with slab seats, and a board supported on pins in the wall for writing desks. His teachers were of the "ox-gad persuasion." He was married in December, 1838, to Miss Mercy A. Mead, by whom he has had 8 children. Those living are Eli, Leeo, Anna and Julius. He is engaged in farming and stock-raising, and owns 30 acres of land. Mr. and Mrs. Miller and all their children are members of the Christian Church. ["History of St. Joseph County, Indiana", published 1880 by C.C. Chapman & Company, 971 pages] -- Note that the date of marriage conflicts with their Indiana marriage certificate.

NAME: Listed as co-Executor on the Will of the Rev. Adam Miller Sr. (his father-in-law) dated 21 Jul 1854.
